Hi ebrain, In the NT, "lust" is commonly translated from epithumio, and is, simply, strong desire. It could be the strong desire for anything. Galations 5:17 uses this same word of the conflict between the Spirit and the flesh. I hope this helps! Love in Christ, Mark |

Mat 5:28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. Hi Mark. What really matters is what did Jesue have in mind when He used the word "Lust", it is clear from Matthew 5:28, above that He ment that state of mind in a man which leads to "Adultery" The question therefore, is not what the Greek word might, or might not mean, but what Jesus intended it to mean. Bless you brother. ebrain. |

Hello ebrain, No, Mark was correct. Go through the NT, and look at how the word is used and what it means. The Lord Jesus used it properly in Matt 5:28 in order to say that a strong desire for a woman was the same as adultery. Steve |
