Love and tolerance are the best responses to confrontation and problems. Did you agree or disagree? See the following passages: Rom. 12:9-21, 13:8-10, 14:1-23; Gal. 5:13-15; Eph. 4:14-16; 1 John 3:10-20; Jude 1:22-23. |

Love is always the best response, but I feel that the church should not tolerate many things, Therefore I believe Love and Truth are better responses to confrontation and problems. Love and Truth. Just my opinion. -kathy |

3 | Are love and tolerance the best response | Prov 3:13 | icarius | 104874
I think that in a carefull study of 'forgiveness' you will always find it related to 'repentence' first. Forgiveness is a response, not a first act. The admonishion is that we are to be ready to forgive. Sometimes the words of Christ on the cross are quoted, 'Father, forgive them; they know not what they do' but that was a request that was more 'gracious' in character asking God to hold back immediate judgement on the true manifestation of the heart of man. If those that were crucifying, and consenting to the act gathered at the cross were 'forgiven', then Peter's words in the first few chapters of Acts have to be called into question, because he charges them with being guilty and preaches the need to repent.
4 | Are love and tolerance the best response | Prov 3:13 | khuck | 104900
In order to forgive ... you must have Love. Christ was able to forgive them because He Loved them.... For God so Loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son... Nothing is of value without the component of Love. 1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing. Staying within the context of the question posed, I believe that nothing in the life of a "True Christian" will ever be effective if it cannot be addressed with and in Love. 5 | Are love and tolerance the best response | Prov 3:13 | joel k | 104923
kathy .. let me assure you this is addressed with and in love, Christ love. I know you believe that forgiveness is the key to the love shown to us by Jesus Christ. And that this same love and forgiveness is what Christ ask of us, to implement this in our lives is to exhault our Savior, or place Him on His thrown. There is one more key factor we must use within our family of believers, and that is humility. Not placing ones self above another, or you could say taking the last and least seat at the table, not at the front of the line with the kind of people that refuse to speak to those they self-righteously put beneath themselves. If I am wrong or mis-understood, please inform me, for I know reproach is an anointing on my head. Maybe you could correct me with your wisdom and I won't have to suffer the contentions of this study site. bye, bye, joel k |

Happy Thanksgiving Joel, Have you gotten any of my emails? It is late I know, but I am just able to get back online. With family visiting and the whole cooking thing. Surely, you do not insinuate that I am self righteously above you, when of course as you well know I am your friend and servant in Christ! And in Christ I have a great love for you! We have so many common bonds as you know. You are so very Loved, and you know that you have my ear whenever I am available and have the time to do so. Please do not be discouraged, I have tried to send you several responses to alleviate any concern that you may have, that I have put you on my nevermind list. (grin) NEVER THAT! Tomorrow is Friday, and I promise you... we will share breakfast with the Lord! Your friend and sister in Christ, -Kathy |
