My question is, can a Pastor, pastor a church and not have a vision. In other words, can a Head Pastor of a church live by another Pastor's vision that is not at his church, but does not have a vision for his own church? | ||||||

Greetings! I'm curious why you have asked this question. It appears as if there is a problem with accountability, submitting to authority or perhaps issues of control and/or jealousy have arisen in your fellowship. Here is a post that I copied for you from Scribe (#42479).Do consider what he is saying here! Scribe posts: Where there is no vision, the people perish If you look up this word in the KJV you will see that it is overwhelmingly used for the prophet who spoke the Word of God to the people calling them to repentance. There were many pillow prophets and false prophets speakning "blessings" and "peace and saftey" at times in Israel's history when there was "no open vision" and the "word of God was precious" If today you have many men preaching but preaching from their own heart and not giving a challenging word from God as revealed to them in prayer and seeking after God's heart, you end up with a people that perish for no prophetic vision. They continue on in their sins with no alarm of the impending judgement to come. And if a minister comes along and decides to obey the heart of God and call the people to repentance he is quickly voted out of the pulpit for a more "tolerable" minister that will "understand" the people. It is only when the preaching of the Word is being done by the power of the Holy Spirit that people will be convicted of sin. Without this dynamic of the anointing the people cast off restraint and say "we are saved to do all these abominations." mommapbs writes: Basically, what is a "vision" - it is what God has revealed to us, and most of it is right before our eyes in His Word. Does God have a different vision for different churches? If we are all one Body IN CHRIST, might His vision for us all be the same? Think about this. Blessings, mommapbs PS: If someone has invented a better wheel we should all use it; if the original wheel cannot be improved (or should no be improved) why fiddle with it? |

Thank you, I love my church and our Bishop and wife. In fact I am a leader within our church. We do not have any problems as far as anyone even thinking to remove our Pastor. He is a wonderful and loving anionted man of God. I'm doing a study and I wanted insight. Londa |
