This seems to be the first occassion of a sacrifice in the bible. Perhaps Gen 4:3-5 could be seen as the first sacrifice. In any case, where did God say that men could make animal sacrifices to him? | ||||||

Could or should? For regulations (that man should, and how he should), start reading at Leviticus 1:1 and continue reading for a few chapters. :-) The thing is, the first 5 books of the Bible were penned by Moses, so we have the record of God telling him how to sacrifice the animals. (God may have told Abel, Noah, Abraham, etc. specifically how to sacrifice, but I don't believe it is recorded.) Also read Hebrews 9.
