1 | Noah's wife name and text reference | Gen 7:13 | DocTrinsograce | 137672
According to Jewish tradiation, Noah's wife's name was Naamah. The same source identifies her as a descendant of Cain. The apocryphal book of Jubilees (4:33) gives Noah's wife's name as Emzara. I'd take either with a big grain of salt! :-) Scripture does not mention her name. |

That’s interesting Doc… apparently not an unusual Biblical name either (Naamah, that is). But I concur - the Bible simply doesn't mention her name. Naamah’s in the Bible: 1. Descendant of Cain; sister of Tubal-cain and the daughter of Lamech by Zillah.—Ge 4:17-19, 22. 2. Ammonite wife of Solomon and mother of Rehoboam.—1Ki 14:21; 2Ch 12:13. 3. A Judean city in the Shephelah. (Jos 15:20, 33, 41) |

Sorry... you're right... I mispoke. The name "Naamah" is in the Bible, but Noah's wife's name is not explicitly given. I should have stated this more clearly. Thank you for the correction and the references!

No, you didn't mis-speak Doc... I took your statement "Scripture does not mention her name" within the context of your entire reply. That is, I properly understood you to mean: "Scripture does not mention her [Noah's wife's] name." I was simply supplementing your interesting post. :-) |
