2 | was dust meaning dirt or mud? | Gen 2:7 | Makarios | 154803
Greetings Fun, Genesis 2:7 "Then the LORD God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being." [NASB] According to Strong's Bible Dictionary, the Hebrew word for dust is "aphar (aw-fawr') From H6080; dust (as powdered or gray); hence clay, earth, mud: - ashes, dust, earth, ground, morter, powder, rubbish." According to Blueletterbible.org, this Hebrew word is found in 110 places in the Old Testament; translated as 'dust' 93 times in the KJV, earth 7 times in KJV, powder 3, rubbish 2, ashes 2, morter 2, ground 1.. In the case of Genesis 2:7, I believe that the Hebrew word that is translated as 'dust' is referring to dry or loose earth. Blessings to you, Makarios |

Blessings, brother. --Hank
