1 | why god didn't allow man to pick mate? | Gen 2:7 | might-be-don | 89603
Genesis 2:18 The LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him." 19 Now the LORD God had formed out of the ground all the beasts of the field and all the birds of the air. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name. 20 So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds of the air and all the beasts of the field. But for Adam no suitable helper was found. This kinda, sorta hints that God did give Adam an opportunity to choose a helper from the available choices, but none was found as suitable. don |

2 | why god didn't allow man to pick mate? | Gen 2:7 | John Reformed | 89612
Dear Don, The simple answer is that a suitable companion for Adam could not be found among the animals. Adam was the first human and Eve was the second. Do you disagree? I would be happy to search for the answer with you. God Bless, John Reformed |

3 | why god didn't allow man to pick mate? | Gen 2:7 | might-be-don | 89620
John Reformed, Thanks for taking time to review my answer. This is my first time providing and answer to a question. Maybe I didn't do it correctly. My answer to the question, "why god didn't allow man to pick mate?", was God did allow Adam to choose from the available choices, but Adam and God found none as suitable. So, I don't think I disagree with you at all. peace, don |

4 | why god didn't allow man to pick mate? | Gen 2:7 | John Reformed | 89628
Hi Don, "why god didn't allow man to pick mate? Because He is Lord and we are but dust. He is the Creator and we are the work of His hands. It helps to keep this in mind. :-) If God, in the working out of His eternal purpose for creation, had decided that giving Adam a choice was the perfect plan...thenthat is what would have happened. Sorry, I forgot my manners. Welcome to the Forum Don. John Reformed |

5 | why god didn't allow man to pick mate? | Gen 2:7 | might-be-don | 89631
Thanks for the welcome... First you say : "The simple answer is that a suitable companion for Adam could not be found among the animals." Then you say: "If God, in the working out of His eternal purpose for creation, had decided that giving Adam a choice was the perfect plan...thenthat is what would have happened" If a suitable companion could not be found, presumably among the animals ( where else could they have been looking ) , didn't Adam have a choice, but chose option (d) none of the above. ? Well anyway... our good buddy SWAZ asked this question almost a year ago. Hopefully the answers given at that time were satisfying. I'll pay more attention to the dates in the future and respond to more current topics. peace, don |

6 | why god didn't allow man to pick mate? | Gen 2:7 | John Reformed | 89639
Dear Don, If you were not satisfied with my answer, perhaps I should have been more direct. God did not offer Adam a choice because He did not decide to give him a choice. Afterall, He is running the the universe and He runs it the way He sees fit. He does not take our opinions on how it should have been done under consideration. Have I made myself clear enough? I hope this has helped. John |
