1 | Contrary View........ | Gen 2:2 | Jensen | 20757
You wrote concering Gen 2:4..... "This verse would have been a better verse at which to start chapter two." GE 2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array. .....is an introductory sentence and a beautiful transitional verse. In my opinion, it summarizes the foundation set in Chapter 1. I agree that there are questionable chapter breaks in the Bible, from a literary point of view, but this is not one of them. The question "Doesn't chapter 2 tell of a different creation order than told in Chapter 1" is asked due to a misunderstanding of the focus of the individual chapters. One being on the succesive creation events, and the other on man's place in the creation. God Bless....Jensen |

Jensen, I like your post and concur with your conclusions. Of even greater importance than your view on the chapter-verse scheme, with which, by the way, I agree, is your refutation of the "different creation order" idea that crops up now and then because the passage is not being read with full understanding. With your view on that issue I also agree fully. --Hank
