Why was polygamy allowed by God in the old testament?

Hi Boog Polygamy did take place in the old testament, but he did not approve of it. Genesis 2:21-25 21 So the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept ; then He took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh at that place. 22 The LORD God efashioned into a woman the rib which He had taken from the man, and brought her to the man. 23 The man said, "This is now bone of my bones, And flesh of my flesh ; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man." 24 For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife ; and they shall become one flesh. God said joined togather with his wife (singular) and they one man and one woman shall become one flesh. Have you ever played Simon says? Simon says joined togather with his wife! If you say joined togather with his wifes! then Simon says you are out of the game. So God Never approved of it. in Christ Fmp |

Fmp: I read your profile, with a unexpected great list of your Doctrine. That is not usual for being on the SBF less than one month, thank you. Congratulations on being a great grandpa. That's something that aging allows us to see how our family tree grows. I am sure you have thought about this and have an answer, but just for the sake of my knowing how your Doctrin handles a specific issue. No arguement is intended this is just for me to think about. You say Baptism is required for the remission of sins. Unless I don't understand you correctly, Baptism is required to be "saved". Have I got that right? Would there be exceptions to this requriement? For example, a person dying of cancer in a hospital. A pastor visits the person and they talk several different times. After some deep talks about Jesus Christ and her need for Jesus Christ, she repents prays and surrenders to Christ Jesus. Due to her very serious condition, near death, she wants to be baptized. There is no way to baptize her. was she saved? Just to give you the "rest of the story". I told her I would do a symbolic baptism and sprinkled her. She was so instant on wanting to be baptized, and there was no way to take her anywhere, so I sprinkled her. Being a Baptist this is not accepted, so I did what I could. Then the final question there are those like the thief on the cross, that because of their last few moments surrendering to Christ, no time was there to baptized the person. Such places like war, accidents that take a person to the ER and there is no hope and confession is almost the very last thing they do. How does all this fit into your doctrine. Be assured no matter if I do not agree I will respect your doctrine and treat you like the Brother in Christ that you are. justme |

Matthew :3:11 JOHN THE BAPTIST SPEAKING I INDEED BAPTIZE YOU WITH WATER UNTO REPENTANCE. BUT HE THAT COMETH AFTER ME IS MIGHTER THAN I, WHOSE SHOES I AM NOT WORTHY TO BEAR:HE SHALL BAPTIZE YOU WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT, AND WITH FIRE,IT WOULD SEEM THAT IS THE STRONGEST BAPTISM YOU CAN GET.JOHN 3:16 FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD, THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, THAT WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH IN HIM SHOULD NOT PERISH, BUT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE. I DON'T THINK IT SAID ANYTHING ABOUT WATER BAPTISM, HOWEVER SHOULD WE BE BAPITZED YES, CHRIST SET THE EXAMPLE WE DO IT FOR A TESTAMONY THAT WE BELIEVE CHRIST DIED ON THE CROSS AND WENT INTO THE TOMB AND THREE DAYS AND ROSE AGAIN AND IS AT THE RIGHT SIDE OF GOD. THERE WILL BE A LOT DIFFER WITH THIS,,AND AS YOU STATED CHRIST CHRIST SURE DIDN'T COME DOWN OFF THE CROSS AND BAPTIZE THE MAlFACTOR HE TOLD HIM THAT TODAY THAT HE WOULD BE WITH HIM IN PARADICE SO HE IS NOT OUT THERE IN THE GRAVE AS SOME TEACHES.LUKE 43:23.NEVER TAKE ANY MANS WORD ALWAYS TAKE GOD'S.

Can the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit be separated? Are they not one? And I only repeated what John the Baptist said in Matthew 3:11 and what Christ said in John 3;16 and Luke 23;43.The first commission Luke 24:45-49, The second Mark 16:15-18 and the third Matthew 28:19,20. IF I am understanding what you are saying is that you have to be baptized with water before you can be saved, Acts 10:43-48 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.44. While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Spirit fell on all them which heard the word. 45.And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, be cause that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Spirit.46.For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God Then answered Peter.47. Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Spirit as well as we. Was these people baptized with water before they received the Holy Spirit, I believe the question was if a person is not baptized with water and dies would they be saved, and again the malefactor on the cross was not, and Christ told him today he would be with him in paradise Luke 23:43. Christ does the saving and once we comply with John 3:16 I think as we comply what GOD says and not what man thinks. And again I am not sure what you are saying Luke 24:47 the first commission And repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem, the second commission Mark 16:15,16 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world. and preach the gospel to ever creature. 16. And he that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. the third commission Matthew 28; 19,20 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, And of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit: if it a lines with GOD'S word is what counts when these commissions were wrote Christ had not ascended back to the Father yet and again it is not what we say it is what GOD'S WORD SAYS.

Romans 9:15 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. I believe this to be what GOD (JESUS) would say about someone that had not been water baptized before they died. |

Water is the basis of all life, we are 78 percent water. God is also called the "fountain of life" and baptism represents the renewal of the soul (body) and receiving the Holy Spirit.
