1 | Why did God allow Polygamy? | Gen 2:21 | justme | 236016
Fmp: I read your profile, with a unexpected great list of your Doctrine. That is not usual for being on the SBF less than one month, thank you. Congratulations on being a great grandpa. That's something that aging allows us to see how our family tree grows. I am sure you have thought about this and have an answer, but just for the sake of my knowing how your Doctrin handles a specific issue. No arguement is intended this is just for me to think about. You say Baptism is required for the remission of sins. Unless I don't understand you correctly, Baptism is required to be "saved". Have I got that right? Would there be exceptions to this requriement? For example, a person dying of cancer in a hospital. A pastor visits the person and they talk several different times. After some deep talks about Jesus Christ and her need for Jesus Christ, she repents prays and surrenders to Christ Jesus. Due to her very serious condition, near death, she wants to be baptized. There is no way to baptize her. was she saved? Just to give you the "rest of the story". I told her I would do a symbolic baptism and sprinkled her. She was so instant on wanting to be baptized, and there was no way to take her anywhere, so I sprinkled her. Being a Baptist this is not accepted, so I did what I could. Then the final question there are those like the thief on the cross, that because of their last few moments surrendering to Christ, no time was there to baptized the person. Such places like war, accidents that take a person to the ER and there is no hope and confession is almost the very last thing they do. How does all this fit into your doctrine. Be assured no matter if I do not agree I will respect your doctrine and treat you like the Brother in Christ that you are. justme |

I have heard from bible teachers that Jesus baptism may was substitutionary just as his death was substitutionary for our sins. Not that Jesus baptism negates our command to repent and be baptised but that it may be "applied" to people in the situations that you (justme) described. That is to people who for one reason or another are not able to be immersed in water.
