Greetings wingsofhopeministry! If I interpret your question correctly, you are asking, "What is the difference between an angel and a demon?" There are quite many differences! Angels worship God (Neh. 9:6; Phi. 2:9-11; Heb. 1:6) while they themselves are not to be worshipped and rebuke those who attempt to worship them (Col. 2:18; Rev. 19:10; Rev. 22:8; Rev. 22:9). Angels are obedient (Ps. 103:20; Mat. 6:10; Luke 11:2; 1 Pet. 3:22; 2 Pet. 2:11; Jude 1:6), are meek (2 Pet. 2:11; Jude 1:9), wise (2 Sam. 14:17; 2 Sam. 14:20), and mighty (Ps. 103:20; 2 Pet. 2:11). Angels are holy (Mat. 25:31; Mark 8:38), elect (1 Tim. 5:21), innumerable (Deu. 33:2; 2 Kin. 6:17; Job 25:3; Ps. 68:17; Heb. 12:22; Jude 1:14), and are ministering spirits to those who believe (Hebrews 1:14). Demons, on the other hand, encourage the worship of themselves (Lev. 17:7; Deu. 32:17; 2 Chr. 11:15; Ps. 106:37; Mat. 4:9; Luke 4:7; 1 Cor. 10:20; 1 Cor. 10:21; 1 Tim. 4:1; Rev. 13:4), even though it is forbidden (Lev. 17:7; Zech. 13:2; Rev. 9:20), demons seek to possess people (Mat. 8:28-34; Mat. 9:32-33; Mar. 5:2-20; Mat. 12:22; Luke 11:14). Disciples of Jesus have power over demons (Mat. 10:1; Mark 6:7; Mark 16:17; Mark 9:38; Luke 10:17; Acts 5:16; Acts 16:16-18; Acts 19:12). Demons are the adversaries of men (Mat. 12:45). Demons testify to the divinity of Jesus and tremble (James 2:19). Demons will be judged and punished (Mat. 8:29; 2 Pet. 2:4; Jude 1:6; Mat. 8:29; Mat. 25:41; Luke 8:28; 2 Pet. 2:4; Jude 1:6; Rev. 12:7-9). I hope that this post helps in explaining the differences between angels and demons! Blessings to you, Makarios |

To my knowledge, the names of only two angels are mentioned in the Bible, Michael (Dan. 10:13, 21, 12:1; Jude 9; Rev. 12:7) and Gabriel (Dan. 8:16, 9:21; Luke 1:19, 26). Only one demon is mentioned, Beelzeboub (Mat. 10:25, 12:24, 27; Mark 3:22; Luke 11:15, 18, 19), whose existence could be merely a pagan belief, being that only the people believed that he was the Prince of Demons. Any other names (Uzziel, Metatron, there are hundred) are simply folktales passed down by Hebrew cabalists and not mentioned in the Bible. | ||||||
