Greetings Moning, You asked, "What is adamic covenant?" According to The Scofield Study Bible, NKJV, Oxford University Press, 2002, pages 6-7, the Adamic Covenant or "The Edenic Covenant" as referred to by this Bible, "required the following responsibilities of Adam: (1) to propagate the race; (2) to subdue the earth for man; (3) to have dominion over the animal creation; (4) to care for the garden and eat its fruits and herbs; and (5) to abstain from eating of one tree, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, on penalty of death for disobedience." Page 6 of this very same Bible defines a covenant in the following way: "A covenant is a sovereign pronouncement of God by which He establishes a relationship of responsibility (1) between Himself and an individual, (2) between Himself and mankind in general, (3) between Himself and a nation, or (4) between Himself and a specific human family." Now, without getting into the argument of the correct interpretation of certain events and periods of time in relation to human history, I would certainly agree that Adam did have certain responsibilities in the garden of Eden, even though the Bible does not specifically mention the word 'covenant' until Noah (Genesis 6:18), and what is labeled as the "adamic covenant" could therefore very well be an assumption in itself. 3 | What is adamic covenant? | Gen 2:16 | Beja | 227878
Hos 6:7 But like Adam they have transgressed the covenant; There they have dealt treacherously against Me. This verse is what gives a good deal of confidence in saying that there was a covenant between God and Adam. In Christ, Beja |

4 | What is adamic covenant? | Gen 2:16 | Makarios | 227886
Greetings Beja, While it is clear that Adam transgressed against God, I do not believe that this verse actually states that there was, in fact, a covenant between God and Adam. Blessings to you, Makarios |
