1 | OT LAW ?? | Gen 26:5 | swerv | 150568
Terrib: So to follow up: what do you think the Lord was "telling" Abraham to do. I believe the 10 Commandments existed since the creation of man ! Cain committed sin in murder !! The Sabbath was created prior to sin !! Do you agree that there is a recognized difference between the 10 Commandments and the ceremonial laws which were not placed inside the ark ? In love, Merv |

2 | OT LAW ?? | Gen 26:5 | terrib | 150569
Hi Merv, Well, there was a law of good and a law of evil through knowledge to know the difference. And this came into play in the garden. Noah found grace because he was perfect (upright) in the eyes of God. Noah lived according to the law of good; of conscience; the same with Abraham. There is no place before Moses that there is a mentioning of any written law. And we can suppose anything we want. And yes, God rested on the seventh day, but the Sabbath was not imposed until Exodus, as far as it is written. The Ten Commandments and sundry laws were given to the Israelites in Exodus and they were to keep all the law, whither inside the ark or outside. The ark is called the Ark of the Covenant or testament, but Christ brought in a new testament: Mat 26:28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. So the old is now superceded by the new; the law of Christ. The old was a natural law and the new is spiritual law and being made higher than the natural has now taken the old law's place. I know your driving point, and I do believe in a Sabbath, but the day I appoint unto God may be different than the day you appoint unto God. But Paul says, if I regard a day, I regard it, if I don't, I don't. Do you make a sandwich and eat it on your Sabbath? Do you do laundry on your Sabbath? Do we break the law on the Sabbath? I am not under the law of the Sabbath. I regard the Sabbath to the Lord whatever I am doing. The Sabbath is for me, for my rest. That is me. My conscience is clear because I do it in faith. terrib |
