1 | Decendents of Ishmael and/or Esau? | Gen 25:13 | Pastor Glenn | 79669
Is there any way to know which present day nations are decendents of Ishmael and/or Esau. Gen 25 13And these were the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to their generations: The firstborn of Ishmael, Nebajoth; then Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam, 14Mishma, Dumah, Massa, 15Hadar,[1] Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah. 16These were the sons of Ishmael and these were their names, by their towns and their settlements, twelve princes according to their nations. Genesis 36:43 Chief Magdiel, and Chief Iram. These were the chiefs of Edom, according to their dwelling places in the land of their possession. Esau was the father of the Edomites. Who are these nations today? Pastor Glenn |

2 | Decendents of Ishmael and/or Esau? | Gen 25:13 | EdB | 79672
Pastor Glenn Basically no. Due to occupation and wars most people groups in the Middle Eastern region have been relocated many times. The Assyrian practice was to always displace the people from their occupied regions. This kept everyone off guard moving into strange and unfamiliar territory. Then the Romans many times cleared whole regions, carrying the people off into slavery. Later the Crusades, invasions by the Turks and Moors displaced many and also later wars like WW1 and WW2 all had effects drawing new boundaries and establishing new countries. However most Middle Eastern Muslims claim to be descendants of Ishmael. EdB |
