1 | One land mass? | Gen 1:9 | Makarios | 13672
Yes, EdB.. Most scholars today interpret Genesis 10:25 as referring to the dispersion of nations or people at Babel (11:1-9). I would agree with them, since the "dividing of continents" would constitute an extremely "noticable" or outrageous event either viewed as brought on by nature or God, and if such an event occurred, then I believe that the Bible would have not told us "in passing", (as such would be the interpretation of Genesis 10:25 if it was referring to continents instead of people) but there would be clear documentation in the Bible of such a cataclysmic natural event (that divided the continents) and I believe that this "documentation" is given to us in the description of the worldwide flood. --Nolan |

Yes I guess this is one of the differences between me and many others, I try to take the Bible literally if at all possible. Since we know that at one point there was one continent and now there are many and since this says doing Peleg's life the world was divided I buy into it. For me this interpretation works, doesn't effect salvation, and I can't be contradicting the Bible since I didn't apply any meaning to the passage other than what it said. I try to take things as a child with almost child like faith! Hey wait a minute didn't Jesus say we were suppose to have child like faith? Wow, maybe I'm on to something! :-)
