And I would also agree against this theory ("Gap Theory") that can only be based upon speculation and not from the Bible itself. I believe that the earth was created thousands of years ago, not millions. I also believe in the literal 'six days' of creation instead of the 'six periods of time' which would support the "Gap Theory".. I believe that it is a 'stretch' at best, like the "Big Bang" theory and "Evolution".. | ||||||

2 peter 3:8 ... With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like are like a day. The word yom, which is the Hebrew word for "day", is used to refer to periods of indefinite lenth, not literal days. Psalm 90:4 For a thousand years in your sight are like yesterday in Your sight are yesterday when it past, and like a watch in the night. When Jesus came the jews rejected him,so God sccattered the all around the world. For 1900 years there is no nation of Israel. Hosea 6:1 Come and let us return to the Lord; Hosea 6:2 After two days He will revive us; on the third day He will raise us up, that we may live in his sight. The sccarttered nation of Israel are being revived. 1948 Israel became a nation again but the jews are still rejecting Jesus. In Exodus 19:11 and be ready by the third day, because on that day the Lord will come down on Mount Siani in the sight of all the people. Remember the scripture in Hosea 6:2 after 2 days or 2000 years. Christ was here over 2000 years ago and it's been 6000 years or 6 days since Adam. In Rev 20:4 ...And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years . . . Matt.17:1 Now after SIX DAYS Jesus took peter, james, and john his brother, led them upon a high mountain by themselves;and He was trangsfigured before them. His face shown like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light. This sound more like a scripture out of Revelation when Christ is in Heaven. God created the heavens and the earth in six days or six thousand years and rested on the seventh. From Adam to Christ is 4000 years or 4 days, from Christ to the church is 2000 years or 2 days. That totals to 6000 years or 6 days. Are we in or entering the 7000th year or 7 day which is the rest. God bless you G ZAZ |

Greetings G ZAZ! I look forward to refuting all of the misapplications that you have attached to the verses that you have cited! 2 Peter 3:8 could hardly be used to support "The Gap Theory" since Peter is clearly speaking to those in Christ about God's perspective of time, and not man's perspective. And the very same thing can be said for your misapplication of Psalm 90:4. Would you like to know what Hosea 6:1-2 is really speaking of? Here is a little bit of commentary on Hosea 6:1-2... "6:2 After two days...On the third day. Not a reference to the resurrection of Christ (illness, not death, is in the context), but to the quickness of healing and restoration (cf. the quickness with which the dry bones of Ezek. 37 respond). Numbers are used similarly elsewhere (e.g., Job 5:19; Prov. 6:16; 30:15,18; Amos 1:3)." (1) And Exodus 19:11 has absolutely nothing to do with Hosea 6:2. Also, you cannot misapply Revelation 20:4 in this way either, since Exodus is written as a narrative/historical account and Revelation is apocalyptic literature. Not only that, but this is perfect example of bad hermeneutics! You are going to have to do much better than that if you want to provide any substantial support for such a theory that was first formulated in the 17th century. And those who hold to the "Gap Theory" have yet to offer any kind of substantial explanation for their theory in light of such verses as Exodus 20:11.. Blessings to you, Makarios |
