Dear wejlly, We may listen to anyone teach, but we do not do so without reservation. Note the word "may." What I mean is that we have the liberty to listen to any person teach. We may very well deem that some persons should be excluded from having a platform to teach in the church. For example, I would not attend a church that had a woman as pastor. However, when we listen to any teacher, we want make sure that they are teaching a message that is consistent with sound doctrine (1 Timothy 1:10b). The more we know our bibles, the better we are able to discern such teaching. Thus, for example, Joyce Meyers has nothing of Biblical value to say. Kay Arthur, on the other hand, is a very good teacher. I have listened to many that teach, but when I realize that they are not being true to the Word, properly interpreting it in context, the time I spent listening to them may be fruitful.
