1 | Who were the people of the "Land of Nod" | Gen 1:12 | Chris_Broden | 114676 | ||
Subject: Finding the "Land of Nod". In contemplating the “Land of Nod”, a thought occurred to me: What of the double mention of man and woman’s creation? On the sixth day, God created man in His own image. “Male and female he created He them (Genesis 1:27). He then speaks to them of the bounty He has provided. “Thus the Heavens and the Earth were finished, and all the host of them (Genesis 2:1).” “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul (Genesis 2:7). Adam then names the creatures of the earth, “but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him (Genesis 2:20).” Then, the creation of Eve (though male and female He has already created). My query is this: Could Genesis be perhaps an account of the first chosen/children of God? Where they were before but men and women, but not men and women who had been “breathed into [their] nostrils the breath of life”, and thus had no knowing of their souls or their lives unto God? Were the first man and woman (i.e. Adam and Eve) perhaps just the first of which to come to know themselves of God, though others (of form) existed? Respectfully, Chris Broden |

Scripture ... Gen 1:12 ... Gen 2:5 ... Genesis 2 recounts some of the events of chapter 1, including the plants. Adam, then Eve, were the first humans created by God. |
