1 | Did God return? | Gen 18:10 | azurelaw | 233142
In chapter 21, the narrative of the birth of Isaac has not mentioned the return of God. So should we understand the word "return" here for it also bears quite a number of meaning in its Hebrew root? Thank you for your help. Shalom Azure |

2 | Did God return? | Gen 18:10 | EdB | 233149
Obviously the Holy Spirit of the triune Godhead did return as He had to witness what He inspired Moses the writer of Genesis to record that Sarah did in fact have a baby. Since God is omnipresent God actually never left. To me this is nothing more than a figure of speech, God putting into terms Abraham was capable of grasping that in approximately one year Sarah would in fact have a baby, which she did. |
