Thank you for your respone. Would you say that Melchizedek was God whom put on flesh and walk the earth? Since there is no record of him being created by flesh.
2 | Would you say that Melchizedek was God | Gen 14:18 | EdB | 127432
Hi and you welcome. Many see this as a preincarnate manifestation of Jesus. However there is nothing in the Bible that confirms this nor is there anything to even suggest it, so that opinion is based purely on speculation. What we know if there is no genealogy given for Melchizedek, he met Abraham accepted his tithe and gave him the elements, bread and wine, we now associate with Communion. He spoke a blessing over Abraham in the name of Lord and was not seen in the Bible again. He is mentioned in that he was a priest of God’s and wasn’t from the tribe of Levi from which all other priest came. Therefore he was the first and valid exception to the rule that priests must be from the tribe of Levi. Second was the second and still is. EdB |
