Hi Forgiven, I like the two Scripture references given for your verse in my Study Bible. It gives us the idea of how the Scriptures relate to the past and the future. Genesis 13:1, "So Abram went up from Egypt to the Negev, he and his wife and all that belonged to him; and Lot with him. Now Abram was very rich in livestock, in silver and gold. And he went on his journeys from the Negev as far as Bethel, to the place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Bethel and Ai, to the place of the altar, which he had made there formerly, AND THERE Abram called on the name of the Lord. Now Lot, who went with Abram, also had flocks and herds and tents. And the land could not sustain them while dwelling together; for their possessions were so great that they were not able to remain together. And there was strife between the herdsmen of Abraham's livestock and the herdsmen of Lot's livestock...Gen. 13:8, Then Abram said to Lot, "Please let there be no strife between you and me, nor between my herdsmen and your herdsmen, for we are brothers." Psalm 133:1, "Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brothers to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious oil upon the head, Coming down upon the beard, Even Aaron's beard, Coming down upon the edge of his robes. It is like the dew of Hermon, Coming down upon the mountains of Zion; FOR THERE the Lord commanded the blessing --life forever." Hebrews 12:28, "Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us show gratitude, by which we may offer to God an acceptable service with reverence and awe; for our God is a consuming fire. Heb 13:1, Let love of the brethren continue." |

David was a philosopher prophet poet and King. He might have been reflecting about the beauty of peaceful saints and exclaimed it in his court which a scribe noted, or he might have proclaimed it over his court at say a ceremony service (or celebration of his people). He may have pondered it in secret and held on to the morsel of wisdom, or used it in a song. He, in any of these cases, was moved by the Holy Spirit who dwelt with him, who prophesied thru him many many times and uttered treasure from the soul of Yahweh. | ||||||

Hi brotherreverb, I love your name and having fun trying to figure out what it means. Are you a reverend or do you plan to reverberate? Anyway, here is a question for you. Scriptures talk about David speaking in the Spirit. You have written that David was moved by the Holy Spirit. What verse were you thinking of there? Are there any Scriptures that come to your mind in which a lower case "spirit" would apply? For instance, how about Psalm 139:7? "Where can I go from Thy Spirit? [spirit?] Or where can I flee from Thy presence?" Personally, I see that as a lower case spirit and presence. From the heart, Ray |
