1 | Whence cometh the races? | Gen 11:7 | danjg | 223394
Gen 11:7 tells us that God confused the languages to force people to scatter around the earth as He had commanded. So was it at this same time that God changed the one race into the races that exist today with their distinct physical characteristics? Or is it possible that the population was composed of folks with all those racial physical characteristics and that God gave all Oriental looking folks certain languages, Negro looking folks certain languages, Caucasian looking folks certain languages, etc?
2 | Whence cometh the races? | Gen 11:7 | Rolff | 223395
I got interested in this question when I was not Chinese, but dating a Chinese. First, we don't know the answer to this question because it is not listed in scripture. Races may as you suggested have changed when God changed the languages. They may have woken up under the shadow of the tower and said, "Uh, you speak funny and look funny." and separated. Second, it could be related to geography, while there are many exceptions, light skinned people seem to be farther north and darker skinned people seem to be native to warmer climates. Third, it could be that before car and airplane travel closer relatives married and created the diversity of homo sapiens that add to our kind because God created that diversity in our genes.
