Hi Edie! I know that this reference was made to Kalos but the Trinity has been somewhat of a pet project for me... We all know that the word "Trinity" is not found in the Bible, but the Scriptures support the doctrine. Our Lord, Jesus Christ, made a very succinct revelation in Matthew 28:19, and though He did not use the word "Trinity," He revealed the formula of the three Divine Persons. Though the writings suggest that the apostles did not use Matthew 28:19 as a formula for baptizing, they understood that the Father is God, that the Son is God, and that the Holy Spirit is also God. They realized that God exists and oparates by means of these three Divine Persons: Acts 2:38-39; Romans 14:17-18; 1 Corinthians 2:10-16; 1 Corinthians 6:11; 1 Corinthians 12:3; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11; 2 Corinthians 13:13; Galatians 4:4-7; Ephesians 2:17-18; Ephesians 2:19-22; Ephesians 4:3-6; Titus 3:4-7; 1 Peter 1:2; 1 Peter 4:14; 1 John 5:7; Jude 20-21... hence, their teachins and salutations used a variation of Jesus' formula in Matthew 28:19. Hope this has been of some use to you! God Bless! |
