1 | scripture supporting Trinity doctrine? | Ps 83:18 | Edie | 106489
Can you tell me anything about the Name conventions for GOD in the New Testament translations (other than the NWT, as this translation uses Jehovah)? Opponents of the Trinity Doctrine say that Jesus Christ was a god, but of course not GOD.

Edie, the NWT is written from an anti-Holy Trinity position, so it's translation committee skews its textual interpretations accordingly. The JW "bible" is unique in this regard. There is much on this website about the Jehovah's Witnesses and the senseless "God" verses "a god" question. Search under John 1.1, NWT, Jehovahs Winesses, etc. You'll find lots. Colin |

Tara1 If I may interject here a minute let me say one thing. Unlike true Christianity where the Bible determines and defines church theology and doctrine, the NWT was written after the fact, church doctrine and theology was established and then the NWT was written which then supported that teaching. Words, phrases, and even capitalization was changed in many places to support the established teaching of the church. The fact that no valid translators was involved tells us the process was nothing more than a rewrite of the King James Bible to make it conform to the teaching of the Jehovah Witness organization and not a revelation or new understanding of the original manuscripts.
