I am struggling just a bit with the notion of repayment according to what we do, since our forgiveness through Jesus' sacrifice is complete. How can both things be true?
2 | the paradox of forgiveness and judgement | Ps 62:12 | Makarios | 49966
Greetings Katherine, According to Ephesians 2:8-9 and Romans 11:5-6, we are justified and forgiven by God's grace. We cannot do anything to earn that grace. All we must do is accept it by accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior! And we have assurance through the Scriptures that the Lord will grant us this grace, so that we may follow the calling that He has for our lives (2 Tim. 1:9). You don't have to do anything in return or anything to earn this grace. Just be thankful, and let the Lord reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords in your life today! For more on 'grace', please read: Proverbs 3:34, John 1:14-17, Acts 11:23, Acts 18:27, Romans 3:24, Romans 5:20-21, 1 Cor. 15:10, 2 Cor. 9:8, Ephesians 4:7, 1 Peter 4:10, 1 Peter 5:5... Blessings to you, Makarios |
