1 | Does God hate the workers of iniquity? | Ps 5:5 | inHzsvc | 2196
Hate is a strong word. However, the Scripture seems to speak of God hating all "workers of iniquity"(KJV). Then again, in Romans, it states "Jacob have I loved, and Esau have I hated." How can some simply say this is "liked less?" What is the opinion of you guys?
2 | Does God hate the workers of iniquity? | Ps 5:5 | kalos | 2202
Short answer: Yes, God hates the workers of iniquity. That's what it says in this verse in plain English. Read Ps 5 verses 4-6 together. Note in context the use of the words "not...Nor...not...hate...destroy...abhors." . . . "These 3 negatively phrased descriptions follow 3 directly stated affirmations. This reveals God's perfect standard of justice both in principle and in practice" (p. 746, MacArthur Study Bible, Word Publishing, 1997). . . . Ps 7:11 KJV "God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day." . . . Rom 5:1 ASV "Being therefore justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ;" The sinner may think he is not at war with God, but God is most certainly at war with the sinner. "*peace with God.* Not a subjective, internal sense of calm and serenity, but an external, objective reality. God has declared Himself to be at war with every human being because of man's sinful rebellion against Him and His law (Rom 5:10; compare Rom 1:18; 8:7; Ex 22:24; Deut 32:21,22; Ps 7:11, John 3:36; Eph 5:6)" (p. 1700, MacArthur Study Bible, Word Publishing, 1997). |

4 | Does God hate the workers of iniquity? | Ps 5:5 | kalos | 105659
'Part and parcel of this abuse of Scripture is laziness. That is, most people simply don't take the trouble to read the context or to do their homework on the meaning of the Bible. And even when they are confronted with overwhelming evidence that is contrary to their view, they often glibly reply, "That's just your interpretation." This kind of response sounds as if all interpretations are up for grabs, as though all interpretations are equally plausible. Such a view is patently false.
5 | Does God hate the workers of iniquity? | Ps 5:5 | Aixen7z4 | 105661
Those who think God is a hater think they are following him when they hate as well. They like to accuse. They must think they are omniscient as well, 'cause they know things about people they do not know. They know who are lazy. But they're not lazy. They will keep reading the book, and they will learn. Then they will know what kind of God we really have. Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD. |
