1 | An agreement or a contrast? | Ps 17:15 | forhim | 60756
Hello and thankyou Ray. The following are the NIV and the CEV interpretations and as for your answer I totally concur and appreciate the further comparison. Psalm 17:14-15 NIV 14. O LORD, by your hand save me from such men, from men of this world whose reward is in this life. You still the hunger of those you cherish; their sons have plenty, and they store up wealth for their children. 15. And I - in righteousness I will see your face; when I awake, I will be satisfied with seeing your likeness. CEV 14. Use your powerful arm and rescue me from the hands of mere humans whose world won't last. You provide food for those you love. Their children have plenty, and their grandchildren will have more than enough. 15. I am innocent, LORD, and I will see your face! When I awake, all I want is to see you as you are. These translations appear in opposite to the other translations I checked (around 6 others). What do you think? Blessings forhim. |

2 | An agreement or a contrast? | Ps 17:15 | Ray | 60798
Hi forhim, I believe that I am understanding you more. I can see that the translations that you have here are stating the innocence and righteousness of the writer; rather than the righteous face of God and Jesus. As for me, I want to see the face of God, be like Jesus, and rest in His righteousness. Is that your thought? From the heart, Ray |
