Excellent question, roverjbh99! Since the LBLA was translated by the Lockman Foundation, I'll have to go with this one being the "Most Accurate".. I believe that the RV 1909/1960 is a 'spinoff' Spanish translation written from the RSV/KJV tradition to Spanish speaking people, the NVI being a 'spinoff' of the New International Version (attempting to be a 'more readable' Spanish translation) and the RVA being a 'revised' edition of the RV 1909/1960 (but I could be wrong, here..) I would say that they are all probably 'accurate' in the sense of translating God's Word into Spanish- the NVI being more 'idiomatic' and the LBLA translating into Spanish with a 'formal equivalence' philosophy.. I would go with the LBLA as being the most literally 'accurate' Spanish Bible here, trusting Lockman's judgment. I don't know a whole lot of Spanish, but I have seen and studied the different Spanish translations that you have cited above.. Good question! Nolan |
