Amen and amen, brother Mark! I am blessed in having few enemies... or, at least, I know of few enemies... I certainly see far greater offense offered to God than anything even slightly near what is offered to me. That's a sad thing because I'm deserving offenses! Here's another relevant Puritan quote: "The wicked is a very coward, and is afraid of everything; of God, because He is his enemy; of Satan, because he is his tormentor; of God's creatures, because they, joining with their Maker, fight against him; of himself, because he bears about with him his own accuser and executioner. The godly man contrarily is afraid of nothing; not of God, because he knows Him his best friend, and will not hurt him; not of Satan, because he cannot hurt him; not of afflictions, because he knows they come from a loving God, and end in his good; not of the creatures, since 'the very stones in the field are in league with Him;' not of himself, since his conscience is at peace." --Joseph Hall In Him, Doc |

3 | All Things Working Together | Ps 116:10 | mark d seyler | 165716 | ||
And how could I not, at this juncture, think of this passage: 1 John 4 16 We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. 17 By this, love is perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; because as He is, so also are we in this world. 18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love. 19 We love, because He first loved us. 20 If someone says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for the one who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen. 21 And this commandment we have from Him, that the one who loves God should love his brother also. "Because as He is, so are we in this world." What an amazing in high calling we have! God bless you, Doc! Love in Christ, Mark |
