1 | How do I ask? | Ps 115:3 | NightJay0044 | 160992
Hi, why can't Jesus heal a person in your family? Can't you ask somehow, and then maybe he will test you, or is there something you can do?
2 | How do I ask? | Ps 115:3 | BradK | 160993
Hi Jason, We need to remember God can heal anyone He chooses! It is soley His perogative. It may not be his will- it wasn't for my mother. He is still God and deserving of our worship. You can seek the Lord in prayer and ask. Consider Job. Regardless, let me leave you with Phil. 4:6-7: "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." I hope this helps, BradK |

3 | Healing | Ps 115:3 | NightJay0044 | 160994
okay, I understand about God, but you know how in the past the Jesus had his 12 deciples and they all followed Jesus well not Judas. You know how they all had power to heal. Why couldn't we have that same power, if we believe and God and do it for the right reasons, because Jesus is all that is right? Of course, then you think, is healing my grandma for the right reasons? You can always always ask God through Jesus. In Jesus Christ, Jason |

4 | Healing | Ps 115:3 | BradK | 160997
Hi Jason, That is a good question. Let me answer it this way: Yes, Jesus and His disciples performed miracles and signs. However, they were done more for authenticating that Jesus was the Messiah than for the sake of healing the afflicted. In other words, the primary purpose of the miracles (healing) was not for the benefit of the recipient. It was to show forth that Christ was indeed God in the flesh! The miracles of the disciples was similar in that they showed that they were truly Christs' "sent ones". Despite what popular "Word of Faith" teaching may proclaim, "Come and receive your miracle", this was not the teaching of scripture or a view held by the Orthodox Church. It is relatively new and is primarly held by 20th and 21st century American Christian churches- who are benefactors of the US being the most prosperous country on earth! Jason, Jesus can and does heal, but there is unfortunately no magic formula to apply. God is not a vending machine. It may or may not be His will to heal your grandma. Look at Romans 8:28: "And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose." We may not immediately understand Gods' purpose, and loosing a loved one is not fun. However, God is a God of comfort, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God." ( 2 Cor. 1:3-4) Lastly, my friend, consider Job 13:15 when he said, "Though He slay me, I will hope in Him." We could substitute, "though He take my loved one, my spouse, my grandmother, though I have cancer, etc" The questions is: Do we trust Him despite our circumstances? 5 | Healing | Ps 115:3 | Hank | 161012
Brad, in connection with what you have said, and said well, in your post, I'd like to relate something I heard recently on a "seed-faith" program on one of the cable networks. The whole program was nothing but a thinly-disguised push to get viewers to send money to these Word of Faith charlatans. But here's the kicker that astounded me. The viewers were told, "Now don't expect to be prosperous, don't expect to be healed, don't expect to be successful unless you are willing to send in your seed-faith money." And if that wasn't enough, he continued with, "GOD IS NOT AUTHORIZED TO BLESS YOU UNLESS YOU ARE WILLING TO SHOW YOUR FAITH BY SENDING IN YOUR SEED-FAITH MONEY." ..... So I ask, if this is not pure blasphemy, then what is? I would like to ask this religious fake, who had no more scruples about taking money from people than Jesse James had in taking it from banks, just who "authorizes" God to do anything. --Hank

Hank: That scenario is to the very core, presuming on God! WOF junk like this has indeed relegated God to being at our beck-and-call, i.e. a glorified vending machine. It is man-centered theology at its' worse:-( BradK |
