1 | root word study, "sons of God" OT | Job 38:7 | fili | 50203
Why would some interpret Job 38:7, 2:1, and 1:6 sons of God as angels? How do I look up original Hebrew meaning when all it says is that it means sons, (I've looked but it doesn't say that it meant something different there as NIV translates it or as Naves says it refers to)? I'm dicussing Lucifer as Jesus' brother with a Mormon, and need some help, can someone help?
2 | root word study, "sons of God" OT | Job 38:7 | prayon | 50222
In the Book of Job the phrase is used for angelic or nonhuman beings (Job 1:6; 2:1). These sons of God presented themselves before God in what might be called a heavenly assembly. Satan appeared with them, although this does not necessarily mean he was one of the “sons of God.” Thus the stage was set for the telling of the story of Job. Hope this helps. prayon |
