2 | spirit or Holy Spirit? | Job 34:14 | mark d seyler | 162843 | ||
Hi Momma, Perhaps someone can give you a more scholarly answer, but in the meantime, perhaps this may suffice. I am looking at this passage as the creative expression of Elihu. As I read the chapter, it seems Elihu is trying to show the supremecy of God over man in justice and authority, and in His power to rule. I am reminded of Daniel as he spoke to Belshazzar, "But the God in whose hand are your life-breath and your ways, you have not glorified." I think Elihu is giving acknowledgement that though God has given to us the breath of life, and our personhood, that He retains ownership of all, and can take back what He has given. I hope this helps! Love in Christ, Mark |
