The Disciple's Study Bible states, "JOB 22:21-26: Salvation, Repentance—Eliphaz urged Job to return to God so his prosperity would be restored. The popular notion mistakenly tied physical and material prosperity to repentance. Compare 34:31-33; 36:10. Job’s friend was mistaken. Salvation does not always bring material wealth. See note on 16:17." Nelson's NKJV Study Bible states, "22:24, 25 Eliphaz implies that Job has been trusting in his riches rather than in God, something Job would deny in 31:24, 25. Then he urges Job to trust in the Almighty God as he does in gold." Ryrie's Study Bible states, "22:24 Ophir. See note on 1 Kings 9:28." ... (1 Kings 9:28) "9:28 Ophir has been variously identified as southern Arabia, E Africa, or India. The gold amounted to about 504,000 oz (15.75 tons, or 14.25 metric tons)."
