1 | Job 1:6 and 2:1 Present to God? Why? | Job 1:6 | Cindy_is_me | 176216
In Job1:6 and 2:1, the sons of God present themselves before the Lord, and Satan with them. Why did they "present" themselves to God? Were they supposed to report to Him? It doesn't appear to me that God 'called' them to report. I have never heard this explained. In fact, I have never really thought about it until now! Thank you! Cindy

Dear Cindy, There is a general concensus that the "sons of God" are angels (see also Job 38:7, Psalm 82:6, 1 Kings 22:19). If that is the case, then the presentation of themselves is probably an act of worship. However, it might well be that they are coming to the Lord to report on what they have done and to receive instructions for further tasks. In Him, Doc |
