2 | Are servants and children possessions? | Job 1:12 | Makarios | 11963
In the context of these verses, I would say that Job's children and servants were all a part of his total possessions. It may be that Satan allowed a single servant to be a messenger back to Job so that each messenger would discourage Job by the news of each calamity. Notice that God puts all of his possessions in satan's power, and satan chooses to kill them all save one- only to send that one back to report the terrible news.
