Hi, Lorene... Welcome to the forum! In scripture we are told to forgive others as God forgives us and forbear with others as God forbears with us. cf Colossians 2:12-19. Forgiveness is for past wrongs. Forbearance is refraining from charging new wrongs to another's account. If you practice this, as modeled by our God (Luke 7:36-50), we demonstrate the reality of the gospel in our own lives. Relative to your current situation, it shifts the onus of responsibility from another to yourself -- which is where it belongs. Thus, you will be ready to respond in an appropriate way whenever this other person might choose to communicate to you how they have been wronged. In Him, Doc |
