1 | Is anxietyand fear sinful? | Philippians | Tim3:16 | 193292
While listening to a Christian talk show, the host stated that anxiety, fear and depression, while we are told that these are mental illnesses, cannot be an illness, since mentality is not a biological function, but basically due to personal choices when not caused by physical damage or defect. I could ot get thru to the show, so can someone show me how to back this up in scripture, without going to the obvious verse in Philippians 4:6?
2 | Is anxietyand fear sinful? | Philippians | canawedding | 193298
Jesus Christ said: Mt 6:33-34: But seek ye first His Kingdom and His Righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you. 34. Be not therefore anxious for the morrow, for the morrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. Paul wrote: Php 4:4-7: Rejoice in the Lord always, again I will say, Rejoice! 5. Let your forbearance be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. 6. In nothing be anxious but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7. And the Peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. What Paul wrote was for those who do "rejoice in the Lord always". What Jesus Christ said was for those who would seek first as He told us to do. |

Thank you CW, 6:34 is an excellent verse, but also hard to live by. I will pray this one through so I do not give my anxiety-prone friend a burden to carry that is too heavy for me to carry myself. Tim |
