By brother and friend, Tim, God's day to you, Very interesting that the Bible never says Elijah or Enoch died. Of course, the flood happened the same year Enoch left. I still think somehow Elijah's letter was sent earlier ... the 50 couldn't find him and we aren't told where Elijah was ... Does the verb sent give a tense sense? Could it have been sent, even recieved, earlier and since the results apparently happened right after, it wasn't inspired by the Holy Spirit to include it until then. The bottom line is we don't know when it was written - sent or received. Searcher |

Greetings Searcher! I certainly have no problem with the possibility that the letter could have been written long before the events of 2 Chr. 21:12 and sent later. Elijah was a prophet after all! ;-) As far as the verb, 2 Chron. 21:12 doesn't use 'sent', but rather the verse says that a writing 'came' to him from Elijah. No help there, I am afraid. :-) Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
