1 | Is Beracah the source of Baraca class? | 2 Chr 20:26 | journeyman | 3438
Does anyone know if the reference to "Beracah" in this verse is the source of the name Baraca which is used by many men's Sunday school classes? I know that "Beracah" means "blessing" in Hebrew; but I am still unclear if this is the source for the name of the Sunday school class.

BARACA - "An international, interdenominational organization of Bible Classes of young men (Organized Oct. 20, 1890)". It is an adaptation of the Hebrew word "Berakah" (Berachah), Blessing in the 2nd Chronicles XX 26 and 1st Chronicles XXI 3. (Philathea is the adaptation for Ladies' Classes.) source: http://www.netpath.net/dsumc/sunday1.htm |

3 | Is Beracah the source of Baraca class? | 2 Chr 20:26 | journeyman | 3644
Thanks, retxar. However, I had already found this information, which by the way has an error. There is no reference to Beracah--Baraca, Berachal--in I Chronicles 21:3; and there is no 20:13. What I was seeking to know is is this the sole reference that the organizers used to name the classes that began in 1890? I find it interesting to note how many things we do in our Christian lives that are based on slight references in Scripture rather than on more detailed teachings.
