1 | Who decides which marriages God honors? | Ephesians | Mainey | 200758
What does the Bible say about a woman's concealment of sterility (by way of tubal ligation) from her husband? The law says this is grounds for an annulment. Isn't it true that some things are done, one to the other, that never would have been thought of in Biblical times? Can one truly make a vow to God knowing they are concealing such a thing? Who decides what God honors and what he doesn't honor? Some of us have all kinds of junk in our trunk at the time of the marriage ceremony, but man assumes that God honors the marriage. vows

Hello Mainey, You said, "Some of us have all kinds of junk in our trunk at the time of the marriage ceremony, but man assumes that God honors the marriage. vows" May I say that we all have junk in our trunk, and God honors vows that are kept by those that make them. IMHO it sounds like someone is looking for an out. Anyone going into a marriage should have a good biblicle understanding going in, and that is know that we are, and I mean none of us are, perfict. I've been with my wife for over 30 years. and I have found, the only thing man should assume is that marriage with all it's benifits, at times, is going to be verry tough! The sooner we work out the rough spots, the smother the road gets. Eph 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her, Are you willing to give your life for your wife? Eph 5:28 So husbands ought also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself; Col 3:19 Husbands, love your wives and do not be embittered against them. God bless John |

Hello John, Not so much looking for a way out, but wondering if I was ever in according to the Bible. She concealed the sterility (tubal ligation) from me. Now she has four children from previous relationships and I have none. I recently found out about the sterility. I guess I loved her too much to the point of believing that she had been pregnant for me, but miscarried. Now she says I am the one who is sterile. What would Jesus do? |

Hi Mainey, According to the Bible, I'd say, you are indeed in. I'm praying for you, your wife, and for your four children. May I suggest you get some christian counseling, perhaps from your paster. Beyond that I cant go, I may have already gone too far according to the, terms of use, as laid down by our gracious host, The Lockman Foundation. This is a Bible study and marital advice is not within the scope of this sites purpose. I am sorry for your trouble, my friend, but some of us, just have to carry more luggage then others. Matt 19:6 "So they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate." God bless John |
