1 | Why did my mom die? | Ephesians | Vince Blaze | 174994
Why did my mother die? Two days ago, I got to the hospital and held my mom's hand for twenty minutes. About halfway through she slowly stopped breathing. I thought that she was coming home to live maybe a week longer, but she didn't. I had moved back in with her again six months ago, so she didn't have to die alone, but now that she's gone, the house is very empty all here alone.

I am so sorry to learn about your mother, please accept my condoliences. The Bible doesn't promise us tomorrw, it is just up to us to be ready and be right with God. God has a purpose and plan for each of us on earth. Please if you can read the first chapter of Ephesians.

She was gasping for air in her sleep while I was holding her hand, and then she stopped breathing. She was so still. She was going to check out of the hospital that day. |

Hi Vince, I am sorry that are not able to be with your mother right now. Do I remember rightly that you said she was a Christian? That can be very hard when you expect someone to be ok, and suddenly they are gone. That is what happened to my mother. She had gotten past cancer, and stroke, and had been improving. She left the hospital for a retirement home, and started to settle into her new life. Then her cancer returned with a vengeance, and none of us could believe how fast she went. This was about 2 years ago. She was a Christian, and I know she is with Jesus now. I know that I will see her again. But there is something else I know too. During the last 8 years of my mother's life on earth, she had suffered a lot, with cancer, stroke, a car accident that left permanent injuries, other things as well. It was while I was thinking about what I was going to say during her memorial, as we were to scatter her ashes in the ocean, that the Lord reminded me of this Isaiah 61 (of Jesus): "The LORD has sent Me . . . to give them beauty for ashes, and the oil of joy for mourning." And so as we held her ashes, we knew, she was beautiful, beyond all imagining, perfect in heaven, and filled with joy in the presence of her Lord. And I know that one day I will see her again, in the wonder and splendor that God intended for mankind all along. Vince, do you have that assurance, that you are safe in the hands of God? Have you committed yourself to Him, to rest in the sacrifice Jesus made for you, to pay the debt incurred by your sin? Have you committed yourself to obey your Heavenly Father, and to trust in His love for you? I hope so, with all my heart I hope so. If you haven't, please, please, confess your sin, and believe in the only One Who can save you, forgive you, and give to you eternal life. Please feel free to contact me at markdseyler@yahoo.com, or here, on the forum. Love in Christ, Mark |
