RodGardner: I have no idea of, and frankly not a great deal of interest in, what you are talking about when you say, "God's people are in a boundary." You could have saved yourself about 50 lines of prose, however, had you given the same answer that Paul and Silas gave to the Philippian jailer who asked them, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" Their answer was brief and to the point: "Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved..." [See Acts 16:30,31]. That, friend, is all there is to it; there's nothing said about a "boundary" -- whatever that is. --Hank

Hank, you are right. Believing is the key. However, in your attemp to simplify the word of God you left out some key points of that chapter. First, the word believe in that verse comes from the Greek word Pisteuo, and it means to be presueaded of. The following verses shows how God saved the houshold threw Paul. Paul spoke the word of God to them and they were then baptized. Then they were saved by God, not something they did. So there must be a criteria for believing then, and that can be found in Romans 10; 14-17. Gods elect are people who hear, and when they hear, they believe. When they believe, they speak truth just like Christ did. However, If you want to give yourself the credit for believing, then who am I to stop you.

Rod, God may have chosen those who believe, but He also gave us the choice to reject Him, as amply demonstrated in the OT. While we are here on earth this apparent dilemma will remain a mystery. Colin |
