What do you consider to be the BEST commentary on Acts? I've read the commentary on James by Douglas Moo, 1 Peter by David's, and am working on the commentary on 1 Corinthians by Gordon Fee. I'm looking for something at about the same level. | ||||||

Hello Huron, In researching how others rate them, these are the best of a technical nature: 1. I. Howard Marshall 2. F.F. Bruce 3. C.K. Barrett Marshall and Bruce are evangelical (I own both and thing Marshall is better). Barrett is conservative but not evangelical. Ben Witherington has a great socio-rhetorical commentary. There is no theology in it, but there is a wealth of information about society, rhetoric, and politics to fill out the narrative. John Polhill has a semi-technical commentary that I also enjoyed.
