1 | Jesus: ona donkey or chariot? | John | billk | 56566
The Jews expected a Glorious Messiah to lead them to immediate victory over the Roman oppressors (but in fact got something much much different). Do many evangelist and evangelicals repeat the error.... creating the same exaggerated expectations... the victorious Jesus. But in fact doesn't Jesus come into our lives on a donkey rather than a victory chariot??? |

2 | Jesus: ona donkey or chariot? | John | Hank | 56571
Billk, I'll be happy to answer your question forthrightly and succinctly. Jesus, fully God and fully man, went to the cross willingly, bled and died for the sins of the world, past, present and future. On the third day He was gloriously resurrected. If this is not Victory with a capital V, I don't know what else you could call it. --Hank
3 | Jesus: ona donkey or chariot? | John | billk | 56597
.....not bad for someone born in a barn I think some of his (and the Holy Sprit's) greatest victories with me have been slow and silent, you don't even realize what's happening or even when it was completed.... it's so gradual. But you wake up one day and it occurs to you... it did happen... your heart has changed!!! ... that is SWEET victory...praise the lord |
