Scripture ... Gospels ... Greetings MellowYellow723, There is clearly a close literary relationship between Matthew, Mark, and Luke. They have a common approach. Even in an English translation, can be seen to differ from John's. While each is fully inspired, almost the whole of Mark, appears either in Matthew or in Luke, or in both. There are one or two other extrabiblical sources that the synoptic writers may used - Q and L. Historical books of the Bible may need other writers. God still edits what goes in His Word.
