1 | John6:22-66 Keep reading over and over. | John | sweet | 67016 | ||
In John6:22-66 Reading this ,if I am understanding,I believe the people were confused because they were scared and didn't trust Jesus,he was there for them all the time. I'm having a hard time understanding.Jesus had conversations with all the people,one conversation wasI told you that you have seen me and you do not believe,another conversation was Amen I say to you he who believes in me has life everlasting. verse 47, also in John 6:52-59 verse 52 he has conversation about,unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood you don't have life in yourself, also in verse 65 he talks about no one can come to me unless it is given to him by my Father. This is a hard chapter to understand. Thanks |

Scripture ... John 6:22-66 ... Sweet, let me try ... vs 23 Refers back to the feeding of the 5,000 (vv 1-15), which all the Gospels record. The people were hungry, so He fed them. Just as Israel was fed during the Exodus (Exo 16) ... which the people misunderstood (vv 31-32). vs 27 Jesus says they were looking for Him because of the signs He did ... and the bread the ate was temporary. He said the is eternal bread ... and He was the Bread of Life (vv 35-40). vv 28-29 is the question/ answer do to the works of God ... which is the dividing line. vs 30 they still wants signs vs 34 they want the bread, like the woman at the well (4:15) vv 41-42 the people began to grumble ... like Israel did in the desert. Their focus was not on God. vs 43 Jesus tells them to stop grumbling and that He vv 44-51 says He came from the Father ... He was the Bread of Life ... and His flesh had to be eaten. vs 52 shows they didn't understand, so He expalined it to them (vv 53-58) ... He is talking about the Lord's Supper (Matt 26:26-27). vv 60 says the disciples said this teaching was hard to accept. vv 61-65 Jesus points out that belief is key and they needed the Father in enable them to believe. vv 66 shows some left. I hope I helped. Searcher |
