We are not to ignore those we have differences with, but, we are to ask for and grant forgiveness. Prayon is basically correct. In Matthew 5 we are the one who offended, so we must ask for forgiveness. In chapter 18, something is bothering us that another did. We want the relationship restored. But, if this one, like the man in 1 Cor 5, does not want to do his part ... he needs to leave the church. Else, there will be disunity. Steve |
