Is this my poor reading skills or is this sense and nonsense? I don't think the improved verse is a sentence at all. The old NASB 77 on 1Ch 17:11: "And it shall come about when your days are fulfilled that you must go to be with your fathers, that I will set up one of your descendants after you, who shall be of your sons; and I will establish his kingdom." The new NASB on 1Ch 17:11: "When your days are fulfilled that you must go to be with your fathers, that I will set up one of your descendants after you, who will be of your sons; and I will establish his kingdom." |

I understand what the passage means. What I am commenting on is the change in ENGLISH from the NASB77 to the NASB Updated. The sentence is no longer a proper sentence as I read it. Compare the WORDING of the two translations. Does the new sentence make sentence sense? | ||||||

You're probably having trouble with the word "that" (second occurrence) in there. The use of the word "that" like that ... :-) ... is not in common parlance, but it is grammatical. The KJV uses that construction as well. | ||||||
