Hi, Joe... Its always important to ask why God wanted specific things in His Word. The Hebrew rarely wrote historical narrative in a way that is perfectly satisfying to Greek minds like we have today. I have to confess I haven't studied this particular section of Scripture in detail. Although, at first blush, it looks like verses 2 and 15 might be key. It is interesting, though, how carefully the Ark was moved in this passage, as compared to 2 Samuel 6:1-10. In the latter case, the Ark was not moved according to how the law prescribed its proper transport. That's my 2 mites worth. Hope it helps a bit. In Him, Doc |
