I am needing some thoughts on 2 kings 4:26. The woman's son is dead and she states to Gehazi that all is well. Why didn't she tell him that she needed Elisha to come and raise her son from the dead? | ||||||

Dear FHoward, The woman's response to Gehazi was brief and might even be considered dismissive. The woman was fully focused on getting to the prophet. We see this in the next verse where her sorrow is vented when she meets Elisha. Gehazi even misinterprets her behavior. In the strictest sense her answer to Gehazi was true. What God does in His providence is well (shalom). Perhaps there is that acknowledgment in the woman's statement to Gehazi. In Him, Doc |
